CYGNUS MANUFACTURING CO. PURCHASES TRUMPF 2020 PUNCH PRESS
Positions company for projected growth following record year in 2008
SAXONBURG, PA – February 16, 2009--- Cygnus Manufacturing Company (CMC) has added a new Trumpf 2020 Punch Press to its fabrication capabilities for clients in the medical device, scientific instrumentation, health & safety, transportation, energy, industrial and aerospace sectors. The Trumpf Press has 20-ton capacity and a maximum sheet thickness of ¼ inch, as well as a maximum punching rate of 420 strokes per minute.
“This addition to our production line enables us to reduce throughput times, improve the quality of our products and components, and strengthen our position as a ‘one-stop shop’ for companies that want to outsource key projects or strengthen their supply chains, ” says Dennis Meteny, CMC's president and CEO. “Although the economy is struggling overall, contract manufacturers should do well as original equipment manufacturers re-think supply chain issues and manufacturing strategies.”
CMC enjoyed a record year in 2008, and the company's investment in a Trumpf Punch Press follows other capital expenditures the company has made over the past several years to enhance its manufacturing capabilities.
